This is a position for a trained clinical perfusionist to join a team of 5 other clinical perfusionist in a unit doing around 600 open heart procedures. Experience with IABP, ECMO, Cell salvage would be valuable.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Perfusionist to join our dedicated team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the provision of high-quality perfusion services, ensuring the safe care of patients undergoing cardiopulmonary bypass and related procedures. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting complex surgical interventions, always maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and care.

As part of your role, you will also manage a cost-effective and efficient perfusion service, actively participating in strategic planning, safety and quality initiatives, and accreditation activities. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, helping to shape and enhance the service’s ongoing development. About You

You are a highly skilled and experienced Perfusionist, equipped with the expertise to lead and manage in a dynamic, high-pressure healthcare environment. With a strong foundation in clinical practice, leadership, and strategic planning, you will drive excellence in perfusion services.

  • Bachelor of Science (or equivalent), with extensive experience in extra-corporeal life support and Cardio-Pulmonary Bypass Techniques.

  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate teams, manage performance, and negotiate successful outcomes.

  • Advanced clinical knowledge in anatomy, pharmacology, engineering, and perfusion science, along with experience in strategic service development.

  • Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to manage resources, undertake research, and anticipate and drive change.
