Electrical Designer

POSITION SUMMARYUnder limited supervision, the Electrical Designer will support work at the Wynnewood facility by designing and developing electrical drawings and documentation in accordance with site standards, codes, and applicable industry regulations. The role requires close coordination with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure safe, reliable, and code-compliant designs. All completed work will be reviewed by senior staff members to ensure accuracy and alignment with refinery

REQUIREMENTSHigh School Diploma or equivalent required, associate degree or vocational training preferred. Electrical Journeyman license requiredEXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS15+ years experience in specific area of refinery electrical projects, construction, or maintenance Familiarity with plant safety requirements and best practices for working in hazardous areasProficient in AutoCAD for creating and modifying electrical design packagesStrong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and industry standards.Excellent listening and interpretation skills to incorporate feedback and technical requirements into design workAbility to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearrangedBasic computer proficiency for data entry, service request processing, and documentationFluent in English, both verbal and written; must be able to give and receive technical instructionsAbility to adjust work schedule as needed to meet project and refinery demandsMAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIESCreate and revise electrical one-lines, wiring diagrams, schematics, cable schedules, and site layouts according to refinery standards and the Management of Change (MOC) processCheck all design work for accuracy and compliance with codes and internal standardsParticipate in field data collection, equipment verification, and walkdownsProvide technical support during construction and commissioning phasesCommunicate regularly with supervisor regarding project status, issues, and deliverablesChampion safe design practices and foster teamwork within the department and across disciplinesSupport the adoption of new technologies and cost-effective design practices to enhance reliabilityFosters an atmosphere for personal achievement and teamwork both within and outside the Department;Champion new, innovative and visionary technologies that are cost effective and value driven to meet the competitive needs of the Refinery;Please note that this list is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties/responsibilities, but an overview of the like tasks that this person will be required to be able to execute.EXPECTED RESULTSEnsure safety, environmental compliance, reliability and operating excellenceConsistently work to improve electrical reliability through projects and proper communications with the maintenance, operations, technical services and capital projects.Designs that meet all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirementsImproved electrical reliability through thorough design review and standards enforcementConsistent application of ethical principles and sound engineering judgmentAbility to troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues effectivelyTimely completion of accurate, complex drawings to support project milestonesHigh level of customer satisfaction through quality work and proactive communicationFull compliance with company safety rules and operating proceduresEmbrace positive change, promote safety, drive inclusive behaviors, and support sustainable reliabilityAdherence to all company policies and proceduresApplicants must be eligible to work in the United States.
