SMX is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Oracle Database Administrator to work onsite at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. The ideal candidate will work with cross-functional teams in the client environment delivering reliable database solutions and support.Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Installing database software Upgrading and patching the database software to new releases Starting up and shutting down the database Creating databases/Schemas Managing the storage structures of the database Managing schema objects, such as tables, indexes, and views Managing user accounts, roles and grants Making database backups and performing database recovery when necessary Monitoring the condition of the servers/databases and taking preventive or corrective actions, as required Monitoring and tuning database performance Maintaining the database software in accordance with all applicable security requirements, i.e. DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) Other duties as assignedRequired Skills & Experience Clearance Required: Top SecretMinimum of Interim TS is required to startBachelor's degree or additional experience Allowable subsitution: Associate's and 4 additional years of experience, or 6 additional years in lieu of a degree 3+years hands on experience with Oracle 19cWillingness to work 100% onsiteKnowledge of queries, DDL, DML, and DCL commandsA comprehensive understanding of the Oracle architecture (physical and logical structures, memory structures, and process architecture)Recovery Manager (RMAN)Data PumpAutomatic Workload Repository (AWR)CompTIA Security+ CE certification (or other applicable cert for CSWF compliance, i.e. CISSP)Desired Skills & Experience Oracle Enterprise ManagerToadOther database platform experiencePostgreSQLMicrosoft SQL ServerNoSQL databases (Apache Casandra, MongoDB)Application Deadline: 4/18/2025#cjpost #LI-ONSITEThe SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications.
