DESCRIPTION
We currently have a vacancy for a Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator to join the Amazon Australia Team. This position is within the Fulfillment Center (FC), reporting to the Regional WHS Manager. It involves working with the WHS team to ensure high safety standards within our FC. The suitable applicant will be trained in the standard work and tools used in the WHS function. You should be a strong communicator, value teamwork, be proactive about safety, and be able to serve as a role model while engaging professionally with the entire FC workforce.
This is an hourly role working on night shifts from Monday to Thursday, 6:30 pm to 4:30 am.
Key job responsibilities
- Identify and report compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities through daily, weekly, and monthly inspections.
- Facilitate incident investigation processes.
- Maintain paperwork required to comply with Amazon and local regulations.
- Record safety incident information in the internal database promptly.
- Conduct safety observations and audits.
- Coach others, including Area Managers, to fulfill their safety responsibilities such as audits, following safety rules, and inspections.
- Depending on the business unit and location, may have additional responsibilities related to fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or other safety activities.
- Participate in process improvement activities and manage actions to completion.
This is an hourly role based on shift patterns.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 1 year of experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a safety-related field or Cert IV in WHS.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week, with overtime as needed.
