The Capes Foundation, a division of the Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association (MRBTA), is looking for a talented Marketing Manager to connect visitors with the eight unique attractions it manages.

About MRBTA and Capes Foundation

The Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association (MRBTA) is a self-funded, not-for-profit, incorporated association with over 50 years’ experience in supporting the Margaret River Region to thrive through tourism.

Our diverse team of 160 employees is spread across the precious patch of earth between Busselton and Augusta. We share a common passion for the region and we are driven by a vision to produce outcomes from tourism which make it a better place to live, work and visit.

Capes Foundation seeks to sustain and share our region’s rich environment, history and culture at the eight sites entrusted in our care – Ngilgi, Lake, Mammoth & Jewel caves, Cape Naturaliste & Cape Leeuwin lighthouses, Capes Raptor Centre, and Forest Adventures.

The funds generated by Capes Foundation operations are used to enhance responsible tourism by marketing the region to visitors, undertaking visitor servicing, providing high quality attractions, and investing in the conservation and preservation of its natural and heritage assets, with a resulting contribution to the economy of the region.

About the Role

The Capes Foundation Marketing Manager delivers the marketing and sales strategy to drive visitation to the attractions and share the stories associated with each of the sites in our care.

Leading a small team, your primary focus will be on digital marketing and storytelling, as well as conversion via the website at capesfoundation.org.au. Alongside this, your team will produce print, liaise with media, and deliver events and activations within the local community.

The position is full-time and is based in Margaret River.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing and sales strategy

  • Develop the marketing and sales strategy to drive visitation to Capes Foundation attractions.
  • Manage the online customer journey to optimise conversion and engagement rates.
  • Manage customer database marketing.
  • Manage online distribution strategy and travel trade activity.
  • Oversee paid advertising.
  • Produce printed marketing collateral.
  • Oversee local partnerships and activations.

Content Development and Delivery

  • Manage content development and the storytelling approach for channels including capesfoundation.org au and social media.
  • Develop expertise on each attraction to ensure accuracy and messaging consistency across all marketing platforms.

Events

  • Oversee the organisation and marketing of Capes Foundation events.
  • Work with site teams to ensure events align with visitor engagement objectives.

PR and Media

  • Develop and maintain positive media & press relations.
  • Ensure that media famils and influencer collaborations are managed effectively.

Marketing Operations and Administration

  • Manage annual budgets & expenses efficiently.
  • Report on outcomes of marketing activity.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate for this role will demonstrate:

  • Experience of developing and delivering marketing plans.
  • Experience of marketing paid attractions/experiences.
  • Understanding of a broad range of marketing channels.
  • Proven experience in digital marketing, including social media strategy and online conversion.
  • Understanding of OTAs and travel trade.
  • A keen eye for visual storytelling and the ability to assess the success of content based on business goals.
  • Excellent copywriting skills, with strong attention to detail, spelling, and grammar.
  • A personable and professional approach, with the ability to build productive relationships with a wide range of colleagues and partners.
  • A genuine appreciation for nature, the Margaret River Region, and the experiences offered by the Capes Foundation.
