About the role
We are seeking an Engineering/Technical Leader in the Water sector based in Melbourne, VIC. Laing O’Rourke is looking for leaders with experience in water projects such as Sewage, Water Treatment, and Pumping Stations. The position is open to candidates currently in Melbourne or willing to relocate.
Key responsibilities
You will lead all technical aspects of the project, including design, engineering delivery, digital engineering, and quality assurance, ensuring value and technical certainty that exceed client expectations. Experience with state regulatory bodies and familiarity with the statutory environment are essential.
About you
The ideal candidate is an engineering leader with strong project management skills and technical expertise in the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of water projects. An engineering degree in chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering, complemented by a professional chartership, is preferred.
You should demonstrate collaboration with clients, cross-functional teams, and delivery partners such as designers, subcontractors, and consultants to share knowledge effectively.
You must have at least 15 years of experience, primarily in water projects across various areas.
You are skilled at leading design teams, coaching engineers, and contributing to different project phases and the company's growth.
