Working within the Inclusive Enterprise & Local Economy team, you’ll help local business owners navigate Council processes, access funding and support, and connect with valuable networks and programs.SkillsThis is a varied role offering skills development in customer service, program coordination, data evaluation, and business support. You’ll contribute to strategic economic development initiatives, including business growth and investment attraction programs. You’ll:Support the delivery of small business programs, including the Small Business Permit Assist Program.Assist in the delivery of social enterprise programs, including the Social Enterprise Support Service.Enhance the customer experience for small businesses by acting as a central contact, streamlining internal referral processes, and supporting data collection and program evaluation.Support local small businesses and social enterprises, helping them navigate permit processes and grow.Be at the heart of enhancing customer experience, streamlining processes and building relationships across departments and with external partners.What You'll Bring/what We Are Looking ForYou're a natural communicator and skilled organiser with a passion for small business and social impact. You’re comfortable managing data, processes, and working with a diverse group of customers — and you thrive in a team environment where collaboration is key. You’ll have:Proven ability to support small and medium businesses through permit processes, advisory services, or similar programs, ideally within a local government or regulatory environment.Strong organisational and coordination skills.Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality customer service, including the ability to communicate complex information clearly, assess customer needs, and contribute to improved customer experience outcomes.Awareness of the challenges faced by small businesses and social enterprises, and the ability to provide informed support or referrals to appropriate Council or external services.Ability to collect, interpret and report on data to support continuous improvement, program evaluation, and strategic decision-making.
