HammondCare is an independent Christian charity specialising in dementia care, palliative care, and rehabilitation, specialist mental health for older people and other health and aged services.

Job Description

Come and stretch out the week with music and movement!

Chair exercise group volunteers bring the energy of a fitness workout but guide people with gentle movements, as participants are sitting comfortably in a chair. Perhaps you have a background in fitness, dance, yoga, physio, Pilates or just love to dance and you'd like to lead a small group. You'll be helping older residents in care to maintain their mobility as well as their healthy wellbeing - and have fun!

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.

Requirements

The commitment is one hour per week/fortnight for a minimum of 6 months. We would be delighted to talk with you about a suitable day and time during the week (Monday to Friday) between 9am-4pm.

Minimum age: 18 years or older.
National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare plus NDIS Worker Screening Check.
