Novotel Melbourne South Wharf features a 26-level tower with 347 rooms & suites, Mr. Carpano Dining and Bar, and Allora Café. The hotel has direct access to the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre (MCEC), the Southern Hemisphere's largest meeting space, and is adjacent to the DFO centre with 180+ retail brands.
Job Description
As a Food and Beverage Team Leader at Novotel Melbourne South Wharf, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences. We seek a passionate individual to lead our team during evening shifts, ensuring smooth and efficient hotel operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and delegate duties to ensure smooth daily operations in our outlets
- Oversee setup, service, and breakdown of dining areas, creating a welcoming atmosphere
- Communicate feedback and key information to the Food & Beverage leadership team
- Maintain high guest satisfaction by addressing concerns or requests promptly
- Lead by example and conduct team training to align with Novotel standards
- Monitor rosters and staffing schedules to meet operational needs
- Ensure proper handling and settlement of customer accounts using POS system
- Liaise with kitchen to ensure high food quality and visual appeal
Qualifications
What you will bring:
- A service-focused personality with a passion for food and beverage
- Previous leadership experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Experience in espresso coffee making and bartending is a plus
- Confidence to lead a team independently
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and food handling
- Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays
