Certis Security Australia is currently seeking permanent part-time security officers to provide security services with a government client. We have multiple positions on offer across Brisbane, Gold Coast, Ipswich, Logan, North Brisbane, and Redlands areas. This could be a great opportunity to work close to home.
Key Responsibilities
An employee at this level performs work beyond the skills of a Security Officer Level 1, aligned with their skills, competence, and training.
- Works from complex instructions and procedures under general supervision, possibly not at the site where posted.
- Assists in on-the-job training.
- Exercises good interpersonal communication skills.
- Coordinates work in a team environment or works individually under supervision of a more senior officer, who may not be at the same site.
- Ensures quality of own work; acts as first responder to security incidents or matters.
Typical tasks include:
- Securing, guarding, responding to alarms, minor non-technical ATM servicing (excluding cash replenishment).
- Crowd control at shopping centres, events, venues, and public areas.
- Patrolling multiple sites in a vehicle.
- Monitoring and responding to electronic intrusion detection or access control systems.
- Monitoring walk-through electromagnetic detectors and screen images using x-ray or observation equipment, including airport security zones.
- Operating a public weigh-bridge.
- Reporting security incidents via computer system.
- Controlling security dogs and conducting frisk searches and explosive trace detection, especially in airport zones.
A Security Officer Level 2 may perform duties of a Level 1 that are not intended to deskill.
Qualifications
- Current Security License Cert II (state regulation)
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Australian/New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Driver's License
- CPR Certification
- Working with Children's Check
- MSIC
Knowledge
- Security industry
Experience
- Experience in a similar role is preferred.
