The Eva Copper Mine (ECM) located in North West Queensland is a significant and strategically important project for Harmony Gold Mining Company Pty Ltd. The greenfield project site is approximately 75km north-west of Cloncurry.
The project will be the largest mining operation in North West Queensland with a minimum mine life of 15 years. It will involve mining multiple open cut pits, providing copper-bearing ore to a concentrator. The mine site will include tailings storage facilities, waste rock dumps, power generation, and an accommodation village.
Harmony is the largest gold producer by volume in South Africa, owning and operating numerous mining and tailings retreatment operations. It also owns and operates the Hidden Valley Mine in Papua New Guinea, including a 50% stake in the Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project (Joint Venture with Newmont). These assets, along with the Eva Copper Mine Project, are supported by the Harmony Australasia corporate office in Milton, Brisbane.
Harmony is preparing to progress the Execute Phase of the Eva Copper Mine Project to achieve near-term first production. We are seeking highly motivated and experienced individuals to join our growing project delivery and operations teams. The Execution Phase will commence in July 2024 with front-end engineering and design, alongside preliminary site works supporting full project execution after the final investment decision. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of defining, building, and operating a major mining operation, offering employment opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
Location
Depending on the role, employment may be at our Brisbane office in Milton, the Cloncurry Office, or on-site, with a preference for local and regional candidates. Site roles may be residential, DIDO, or FIFO.
