The Registered Nurse in the Thyroid/Endocrine department focuses on patient care for those with thyroid diseases, collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive support. Responsibilities include triaging patient referrals, educating families, and following up on patient progress. This role requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and strong communication skills, with a commitment to family-centered care.

This Staff Nurse will be responsible for:
  • Working with patients and families with acute and chronic general endocrine issues with a main focus in caring for patients with thyroid disease.
  • Triaging patient referrals with primary care physicians and/or families requesting thyroid nodule appointments.
  • Preparing patients and families for evaluation in the Thyroid Center and Thyroid Nodule Clinic.
  • Providing telephone, in-person, and telehealth education and support.
  • Following up with patients and families to evaluate progress after making medication changes and surgical procedures.
  • Providing clinical information and acting as a liaison between families and their physicians.​
  • Working collaboratively to provide family-centered care as a member of a multidisciplinary team that provides expert care.

To qualify, you must have:
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree
  • 1-3 years nursing experience, pediatric RN experience also preferred
  • Strong telephone communication, critical thinking and organizational skills as well as the ability to work as a team
  • Comfort providing telephone support
  • Ability to work 30 hours scheduled as three 10-hour days (Fridays required) in the Boston location
