About the role: We have an exciting role available for a Merchandise Planner to join our Skechers Team. Reporting to the Head of Planning, you will provide structure, visibility, control and support to various brands, working in partnership with the Merchandise Buyers in the achievement of budgeted sales and gross profit.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Budget formation, building and maintenance of Merchandise Financial Plans (MFP’s / WSSI’s) in consultation with the Buyer and the Buying & Planning Management teams
- Management of all reporting, product and brand analysis, both weekly and seasonally
- Maximising return on inventory, closing stock management, markdowns and aged stock
- All OTB requirements, option plans, budgeted inventory levels and forecasts
- Product analysis and preparation to facilitate and identify sales growth opportunities / issues in the business
- Monthly Replan (of MFP), working with the buyer for product insights, to maintain current, accurate merchandise plans including OTB, markdown, sales, GP and stock forecasts
- Product and distribution recommendations as an output of MPF Replans and ongoing reporting and analysis
- Monthly tracking of sales and related information to compare with budget, plan and prior year
- Determine, review and maintain optimum stock levels of retail stores and analyse product flow and sales trends to ensure accurate forecasts of product needs
To succeed in this role, you will need to have:
- Demonstrated minimum 5 years’ experience in a Merchandise Planning role
- Demonstrated ability in a high-volume retail industry
- Degree in a related discipline (preferable but not essential)
- Experience managing and developing a team of results-driven planning team members
- Strong financial and numeracy acumen
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
