Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Welsh-Speaking Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons in Welsh across various subjects to students of all ages. As a Welsh-speaking teacher, you will play a key role in promoting and preserving the Welsh language and culture within our school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Welsh language and literature, as well as other subjects, ensuring alignment with the national curriculum and educational standards.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel motivated and empowered to develop their Welsh language skills and cultural awareness.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth and linguistic development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate Welsh language and culture across the curriculum, fostering a bilingual ethos within the school.
- Engage with parents/guardians and the wider community to promote the importance of bilingual education and encourage participation in Welsh language activities and events.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on best practices in bilingual education.
Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Fluent proficiency in Welsh language (C2 level or equivalent) with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience teaching Welsh language and literature at primary or secondary level, preferably in a bilingual or Welsh-medium setting.
- Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and pedagogical approaches for teaching Welsh language and culture.
- Enthusiasm for promoting bilingualism and fostering a positive attitude towards Welsh language learning among students.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/guardians, and external partners to support the school's bilingual mission.
