The Lead Technologist is a lead technical role and works on one or more projects of moderate complexity as the technology subject matter expert.  Works on moderately complex tasks and projects and support issues that involve a degree of risk or may impact business unit performance. Utilizes individual level of expertise within one or more areas of specialty.


•    Researches and analyzes technologies within area of required expertise.
•    Assesses emerging technologies.  Evaluates and may recommend new products or tools for the organization.
•    Makes recommendations and influences long-term technology strategy and planning for multiple business units.
•    Assists in the development and analysis of source selection strategies.
•    Works with service providers to ensure that their in-scope technical solutions are consistent with the enterprise business strategy and architecture.
•    Serves as a consultant and point of contact for Middleware Platform related issues.  Provides project managers with technical consultation and advice, enabling quick response to inquiries related to the program/project.
•    Provides technical analyses to help define, assess, and monitor the technical aspects of the program/project or service.
•    Designs innovative solutions using new technologies.  Recommends short-term alternatives when appropriate.
•    Troubleshoots existing information systems or networks to identify errors or deficiencies.  Brainstorms possible solutions and evaluates alternatives against decision criteria.
•    May lead team responsible for the resolution of support issues escalated by operations, development personnel or service provider personnel.  Works with vendors during the problem resolution process as needed.
•    Provides technical expertise across business functions. Identifies opportunities to improve business processes via new technologies.
•    Provides support to Principal Technologists.
•    Work collaboratively with other teams; QA, UX and maintain deployments with clear  Segregation of Duties 
•    Adhere to strict Change Management and CAB approval policies
•    Root Cause Analysis - must have good problem investigation and analysis skill
•    Create, maintain automation tools to maintain operational excellence. Explore opportunities to improve day-to-day operational efficiency (RTO’s/RPO’s) using automated tools and scripts.
•    Runbook completion, reviews, security configuration finalization, Security testing, 

•     At least 5+ years of experience in WebSphere/Apache Tomcat Administration and migration of enterprise scale Web Applications to Tomcat Application Server..
•    At least 1 year of TomEE experience.
•    Expert skill level in Web Application Server administration - Large-Scale Deployment, Advanced Configuration, High-Availability Clustering, Capacity Management, Performance Tuning, and Troubleshooting.
•    Proficient in Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, ASP, HTML, XML, XSLT, JAXB, and JDOM / EJB, DAO, JNDI, Shell, PowerShell, and Perl
•    Prior experience in WebSphere Clustering, JVM Internals, Building, installation, configurations and deployments is a plus Experience on Red Hat 7.4, and VMware, AWS.
•    Working experience in Oracle/SQL, MQ, Web Services, HTTPS, Security Models, JAAS, Role Based Security
•    Strong knowledge of IP networking, DNS, load balancing and CDN’s - TCP/IP, FTP, SMTP, POP and HTTP/HTTPS
•    Prior experience of Jira, Confluence, SharePoint.
•    Experience in supporting mobile applications (Apple iOS, Android and Microsoft), JDBC connections configurations and settings.
•    Knowledge of Mulesoft will be an advantage
•    Excellent working knowledge of software-defined lifecycles, Dev-QA-Production build progression, product packaging, and deployments. 
•    Experience with Continuous Deployment/ Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins.
•    Experience in deploying and supporting applications in cloud – AWS, Azure.
•    Experience in Integration with other systems is a plus (AEM, Salesforce, Mulesoft, AWS )

•    Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education in Computer Science and Information Systems
•    Master’s degree is a plus 

•    Relevant Engineering Certifications.
•    Must possess working experience utilizing the ITIL Framework for Incident, Change, Problem and Release Management.
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
