Currently seeking qualified candidates for our Operations Supervisor opening, to join our manufacturing organization..  Cleveland, Tennessee is the North American location where Whirlpool’s premium cooking products are built.

 

Day to Day
Responsible for leading the efforts of production associates to achieve established safety, quality, delivery, cost, and production objectives in the department. You also will be responsible for all labor, payroll, hourly evaluation, and employee issue resolution activities within your department. You will be responsible to support all lean activities, 5S initiatives, and ensure standard work is being performed on a daily basis in your area/shift.  In addition, you will be assigned additional projects in your area of responsibility as well as support projects that are led by others in your department.

 

What You Will Do

  • Provide direct leadership of an assigned Operations area and hourly team to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost targets

  • Meet financial and productivity goals including daily yield and labor efficiency metrics

  • Lead or assist in projects to improve safety, quality, and/or cost metrics

  • Support lean initiatives in your area of responsibility for 5S, quality, and standardized work

  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment

  • Oversee, approve and audit KRONOS for hourly associates as well as schedule manpower as needed

  • Complete administrative paperwork (reports for safety, HR, payroll, attendance, vacation, etc.)

  • Participate in a lean focus efforts (LFE) and problem solving activities

  • Work in a cross functional environment with other departments to maintain equipment, meet schedules and to accomplish department goals

  • Monitor and measure key indicators of department performance

  • Communicate effectively with associates, peers and division leadership to effectively manage the department

  • Demonstrate Whirlpool Values

 

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s Degree completion (preferred) or Bachelor’s level education that is currently in-progress

  • Minimum of two years (5+ preferred) experience in people leader role in a manufacturing environment

  • Must be flexible if asked to move across shifts or throughout various departments throughout Cleveland  Operations

  • Be able to lead cross functional activities such as Lean/ Quality Kaizens, Safety investigations, and TPM activities.

  • Be able to resolve conflict in a respectful, confidential manner

  • Proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced manufacturing environment

  • Excellent communications skills that are carried out in an honest, open, factual, and professional manner

  • Must be highly motivated, with excellent organizational skills and leadership behaviors

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and operations

  • Ability to learn company philosophy, division policies and procedures

  • Must value diversity of ideas, opinions, experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives needed to foster a competitive global business environment

  • Preferred computer skills including MS Office, Google Suite, Kronos, and SAP exposure
