What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Lead and supervise transportation staff and drivers
  • Train and evaluate employee performance; recommend or initiate hiring, promotions, transfers, or disciplinary actions
  • Ensure optimization of efficient routing of deliveries and driver performance
  • Coordinate and dispatch drivers to appropriate locations
  • Track and trace shipments for customers to ensure on time, accurate, and satisfactory deliveries; provide updates as necessary
  • Respond to incidents and collisions; coordinate with appropriate company resources to resolve problems; provide follow-up and reporting, as required
  • Correctly maintain and generate required reports; properly process, audit, and file various documentation

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of transportation or supply chain experience required, basic knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project) and Windows applications; ability to create complex formulas in MS Excel, and quickly learn and achieve proficiency in new software applications

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 years of operations experience, 1 years of experience supervising
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present clean, organized, and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience
  • Ability to develop insightful, value-added and actionable analyses with detailed explanations regarding drivers of those results; produce unambiguous, comprehensive and accurate interpretations
  • Proven leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively supervise, coach, and influence employees
