The Medical Assistant assists providers and other members of the health care team in clinic offices by performing a variety of back office, patient-related tasks and ensuring smooth patient and work flow within the department.


Join the Ready Now team of Medical Assistants at Virginia Mason.  This unique position provides focused attention while you are trained in the Virginia Mason experience. Round in multiple departments, learning skills you will put to use in a regular placement at one of our outstanding clinics. The goal is to optimally match each team member with the right department based on their skill set and needs of the clinic. This position may require variable hours and travel to different Virginia Mason locations. This position requires a High School Diploma or GED. Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program required. This position also requires a Washington State certification as a Medical Assistant - Certified, including completion of required Washington State AIDS training. Knowledge of third party payer requirements required. Strong aptitude for detail, and ability to work independently, required. Strong organizational, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills required. Skill in using a PC required.


One year experience in a health care environment preferred. Certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is also preferred.
