XTO Mechanical Integrity Engineer

Job Role Summary

Responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining and continuously improving corrosion control programs, systems for our production facilities and pipeline operations.

Job Role Responsibilities

  • Maintain and provide internal and external corrosion control expertise and consulting for our production facilities and pipeline.
  • Develop, lead, implement and continuously improve the corrosion program including program documentation, procedures, technical & field expertise, cost and reporting. 
  • Manage and supervise corrosion control staff including field functions.
  • Manage, consult on and monitor cathodic protection and inhibition.
  • Work with peers to maintain our tank coating and painting procedures.
  • Develop, implement and maintain manuals, procedures, specifications and other documents related to corrosion control; including developing and implementing recurring programs and documents review and improvements. 
  • Conduct continuous research in the market for new/enhanced technology.
  • Ensure all DOT inspections have been executed/managed/documented.
  • Facilitate/lead Chemical Management Team Meetings.
  • Work with other groups and departments on various activities to mitigate corrosion issues to reduce risk of incidents and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Train field personnel and implement procedures; monitor field activities for compliance with procedures through daily contact, reports, summaries and periodic inspections.
  • Continuous oversight of workover program through sample collection from tubing failures and other workover problems.

Expected Level of Proficiency

  • Must have experience in corrosion prevention and control programs for hazardous liquid and/or gas transmission and plant assets and energy pipeline context.  
  • Strong ability to manage time and scheduling to meet appropriate deadlines.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Good computer skills are a must for this position.
  • Individual must be self-motivated and work with minimum supervision.
  • Working knowledge of DOT/PHMSA regulations and RRC regulations in dealing with Leak Survey and pipeline patrols, valve maintenance and record all events into our integrity management pipeline program.
  • Have working knowledge of our Pigging system program, scheduling and sample collections.
  • Have working Knowledge and must be willing to support our 6 Map program.
  • Must be willing to accept any special request and studies needed.
