SAIC is looking to fill a position is for an experienced Operations Center Tools Software developer.

Job Description:

The Developer must be capable of performing software solution development, day-to-day configuration, maintenance and support activities that enable the Operations Center and their IT Service Provider Partners to practice performance and availability monitoring and practicing of the Event Management process. The Developer will need to be familiar with various technical domains (IT infrastructure and enterprise web applications) so service health and business impacts of service degradations can be determined. The person in this role will work within a technical team of IT professionals to perform system software solution development and administration activities on the enterprise monitoring software.

Job Duties:

The Developer will work under the direction of a technical team lead and with a Solutions Architect to ensure that these technologies are both fit for purpose and fit for use across the IT domain. The role will also be expected to resolve new problems as the technologies are deployed that will require creative solutions.

Qualifications:
Required Education/Experience/Skills

- BA in related discipline, 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree may be substituted

- Candidate must have 2 + years of experience with Perl and/or PowerShell

- Candidate must have understanding of SNMP and networks

- Candidate must understand IT Service Management and delivery within industry best practices framework such as ITIL

- Possess or demonstrate ability to obtain and maintain a required DOE Q-Clearance

- Three to five years of experience in Software Development

- Demonstrated experience in software development life cycle

- Demonstrated experience analyzing and interacting with customers on requirements

- Strong interpersonal skills

- Able to take direction from senior staff

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a larger team

- Communicate frequently with senior staff and project lead to discuss issues, needs, activities, progress

- Demonstrated willingness to follow established change processes and procedure All work performed is of the highest quality and professionalism

Desired Skills

- Experience with BMC TrueSight Operations Management

- Experience with the BMC ITSM Suite (Change, Incident, Knowledge, CMDB and/or Problem Management)

- The candidate should possess knowledge of system component monitoring and IT service management

- Knowledge of the ITIL framework

- Ability to prioritize personal work assignments

- Understands basic testing procedures and how to apply them to project work

- Ability to work cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes

- Knowledge of configuration management practices

- Familiarity with agile project management
