Purpose of Role:
The Factory IT Technician is responsible for maintaining and supporting the factory control system IT infrastructure throughout the facility.  The Factory Control System IT infrastructure includes all aspects of Factory IT systems including server/PC infrastructure, Ethernet networks, IT application software, and Factory ICS Cyber Security.  The Factory IT Technician is an active member of the site controls team. 


Principal Accountabilities:
• Manage and support Factory IT infrastructure including networks, routers, switches, servers/PC’s (both physical and virtual environments), and software applications.
• Provide troubleshooting and maintenance of all Factory IT infrastructure in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. 
• Manage site virus and malware protection solutions for all Factory IT assets, ensuring protection is up to date with latest profiles and definitions.  
• Manage site Factory IT assets patch management for servers, PC’s, network equipment as well as factory controls software applications, including testing, validation, and roll-out of OEM patches and firmware updates.  Ensure site systems are protected with up to date and latest security patches.
• Manage site Factory IT backup management/disaster recovery solutions by ensuring systems are properly backed up (both onsite and offsite solutions) and testing/verification disaster recovery plans.
• Manage site controls Active Directory configuration (users, group security, and security policies). 
• Maintain an accurate/up to date inventory of installed Factory IT assets, tracking of software licenses, and network diagrams. 
• Monitor Factory IT system performance and perform continuous improvements to optimize system performance.  
• Support site project implementations involving Factory IT asset changes/additions including identifying project requirements, implementing new hardware/software applications, and directing contractors to support installations. 
• Lead and maintain the site Factory IT infrastructure life cycle management and master planning to upgrade obsolete hardware and software. 
• Manage and track vendor and 3rd party support/maintenance contracts and services. 
• Actively participate and contribute to the Mars Factory IT Community and Factory Cyber Security programs. 
• Coordinate Factory-to-Office firewall rule set changes with Mars IS Information Security. 
• Collaborate with site teams, central controls/Factory IT engineering, Mars IS, and Mars Information Security associates on deployment of Factory IT systems, applications, and standards.
• Provide clear documentation of changes, training guides, and create awareness of factory IT tools and services.


Minimum Qualifications:
• Associates of Applied Science in computer networking or electronics field of study
• 3 years of experience managing IT systems including server/PC administration, networks, virtual infrastructure, patch management, anti-virus/malware management, and back-up and recovery systems.
• Hands-on experience with common factory IT hardware and software.
• Proven experience with cyber security principles and practices.  
• Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication ability, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Able to work flexible hours when necessary for system upgrade after hours and support 24/7 plant.
• Must be a team player who welcomes collaboration and knowledge sharing.


Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science in computer networking or electronics field of study
• 5 years of experience managing IT systems including server/PC administration, networks, virtual infrastructure, patch management, anti-virus/malware management, and back-up and recovery systems.
• Solid knowledge of IT systems and applications including but, not limited to: Cisco Switches, VMWare, ThinManager and MSSQL. 
• Experience with VEEAM
• Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs and factory controls (manufacturing environment)
• Ability to read electrical drawings
• Ability to understand and troubleshoot control circuits
