The Higher Education sector current faces a range of challenges across Canada including reduced government funding, increasing student expectations as well as a range of challenges including technology, infrastructure and security.Our approach is to work collaboratively with our clients in the higher education sector to understand these forces, identify opportunities, and develop solutions across the student journey and administrative functions.The primary role of the Manager is to oversee day-to-day delivery of entire client engagements or major
workstreams within a large, multi-team project situations. Managers support project teams by leading and
providing guidance on tactical project activities (e.g., project and client management, contributing to the
project’s intellectual agenda, identifying and framing critical strategic choices, designing and facilitating
implementation and change processes). Managers also play an important role in overseeing the output of junior team resources, while helping train and develop junior team members for long-term success. Managers also contribute to the development of the practice through internal leadership roles (e.g., campus recruitment, published thought leadership).  As a Manager, you will:
• Cultivate and build long term relationships with client-side peers
• Identify and support business development opportunities
• Contribute to the intellectual agenda for all client engagements for which they are responsible
• Assume day-to-day project delivery responsibilities for projects, supported by a core team of consultants;
successfully deliver projects that ensure client satisfaction, on-time completion, and project profitability
• Offer expertise in areas of specialization – industry and skill-specific
• Apply a strong knowledge of industry trends and practices
• Assess and understand clients’ key issues, identifying business strategies to help them succeed
• Contribute to the growth and development of the Public Sector industry practice
• Participate in the development and delivery of industry training programs
• Assume internal leadership roles focused on practice development (e.g., campus recruiting, thought
leadership/IP development)
• Actively mentor and coach team members and other junior resources across the practice

External Posting Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
• Must have strong background, experience, and expertise in Higher Education
• Post graduate degree and/or a professional designation (MPA or MBA) is a strong asset
• Prior consulting experience is a strong asset
• Existing networks, relationships, and eminence in Higher Education, is an asset
• Experience delivering projects in: enterprise cost reduction, program review / evaluation, shared
services, process improvement, business model design
• Experience with project problem diagnosis, solution development, client communications, facilitation of
decision making, documentation, managing client expectations and team leadership
• Proven ability to deliver the full cycle of project management accountabilities
• Ability to work independently, be a self-starter, and have a point of view on Higher Education and Public Sector industry topics
• Strong commitment to professional client service excellence
• Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams
• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions
• Proven analytical skills and systematic problem solving
• A passion for public policy and government
• Knowledge of government finances, financial reporting is an asset Work Eligibility:
