Mars Wrigley Confectionery is looking for a Kroger Customer Business Leader who has excellent people, business, and thought leadership skills to deliver overall volume, profit and share objectives for Mars Wrigley Confectionery future consumption portfolio. This individual will develop collaborative and productive working relationships with Kroger GO and internal stakeholders along with internal cross-functional team including Sales Finance, Supply Chain, Category Insights and Customer Development team members. This role is responsible for developing the Annual Operating Plan, ensuring fiscal responsibility and managing the P&L.  He/she would implement and ensure that controls are maintained to measure and monitor sales spending and sales expenses. This role oversees the execution of brand strategies and strategic category management initiatives for the future consumption portfolio and supports the Talent Management process with an emphasis on succession planning and development of bench talent with their two direct report associates. 

 

Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluates and interprets performance, insights, and competitive landscape to create strategy and drive portfolio and three year planning.
• Deliver team performance metric objectives, strategies, goals and measures thru creative programming and strategic long term sustainable strategy.
• Develops Annual Business Plan and Joint Business Plan with Kroger GO
• Actively lead, engage and collaborate with internal functions, peers & colleagues to ensure flawless execution of joint business plan/strategy plans and be liaison with Mars Wrigley Customer Supply Chain Team and Kroger Supply Team to drive on time accurate deliveries.
• Lead and oversee all future consumption strategic sustainable assortment, merchandising, promotions and shelving initiatives.
• Oversee promotions, scans, and markdowns to deliver trade to budget and financial targets.  Effectively negotiate trade deals to drive profitable business and positive ROI. 
• Responsible for accurate monthly and quarterly sales forecast based on demand forecast. Leverage tools and relationship with customer to drive forecast accuracy. 
• Oversee all new item set ups, costing and negotiation agreements
• Hire, coach and motivate associates for growth
• Conducts monthly and quarterly strategic planning sessions with Kroger GO

 

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required
5 years sales leadership experience in large customer Account Management preferrably in the CPG industry
Strategic thinking with ability to solve problems
Strong business/financial acumen
Strong communication and presentation skills
Travel up to 20% - Domestic
Ability to submit to a background check and substance abuse screen
Valid drivers license and clean driving record
 

Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or Advanced degree
6+ years sales leadership experience in large customer Account Management preferrably in the CPG industry
Strategic thinking with ability to solve problems
People management skills
CPG industry experience
