As an RF/Analog Design Engineer you will work with our others to define and deliver key features within the low power wireless MCU platform.

It is if you are a highly motivated, self-driven, talented RF/Analog Engineer with demonstrated knowledge of the IC design flow, all the way from initial idea to implementation. Engineers inquiring about this position should be familiar with analog/mixed-signal circuits, design capture, layout, test, evaluation and debugging of prototype ICs, and design support for mass production. Successful candidates will have excellent written and oral communication skills in English and will be comfortable explaining technical concepts to a wide range of audiences, including senior engineering leaders.

 

Essential Functions

 

  • Architects, designs and verifies circuits, logic, systems, algorithms, etc. to meet product requirements. Rigorously pursues superior implementations in terms of performance, power, silicon area, robustness against process changes
  • Determines design approaches and parameters, based on theoretical analysis, and verify design with simulation tools
  • Develops innovative new designs for patenting or protecting as trade secret
  • Responsible for custom layout, including interaction with layout designers
  • Conducts evaluation of design results by laboratory measurements of ICs
  • Researches design techniques through technical publications and seminars
  • Supports marketing in product definition
  • Supports efficient test program development
  • Supports product engineering to meet manufacturing/production needs
  • Supports applications engineering to meet customer needs
  • Works under general supervision of project lead and/or senior project team members
  • Interacts with internal and external personnel

 

Experience and Education:

  • A technology-related Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree
  • 3+ years of industry experience required, a PhD may eliminate years of experience required

           

 

Desired Skills

 

  • Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals and basic signal analysis
  • Knowledge of MOS transistors and analog/digital circuit design
  • Ability to model designs and system in Matlab, C, etc.
  • Well skilled in implementation, design for testability, and verification
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Building blocks: OPAMP, gm-C filters, switch capacitors, ADC, and DAC, state-machines, bus interfaces
    • RF circuits: LNAs, mixers, and PAs
    • Frequency synthesis: phase detectors, ring oscillators, LC-VCOs, PLLs
    • DSPs, microcontrollers, memories
  • Ability to oversee and guide layout efforts
  • Knowledge of scripting/language (perl, shell, python, skill)
  • Good laboratory measurement skills (analog and digital)
