Position Summary:

Assist in the preparation of product while maintaining the highest level of quality standards. Perform all jobs safely, efficiently and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant in the areas of Safety, Quality, Reliability (SQR) and our Customer 1st strategy. Provide leadership that embodies our 7 Kroger Manufacturing High Performance Work System principles. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety. 

Essential Job Functions:
  • Ensure the quality and freshness of all products
  • Maintain work areas in a safe and sanitary manner by following established procedures
  • Operate certain warehouse vehicular equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
  • Perform packaging function at the end of production lines
  • Perform various shipping and receiving functions
  • Perform labor intensive activities associated with the production of food products
  • Operate various machines used in the production of food items, including boxer/packer equipment, wrapping equipment, bottling equipment, bundler equipment, baggers, labelers, vacuum packers, etc.
  • Use established procedures for properly operating equipment and make minor adjustments to maintain the equipment
  • Report equipment problems for repairs
  • Perform certain sanitation work in work area
  • Assist the production technician in the production process
  • Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements
  • Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 Systems
  • Accountable to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
Minimum Position Qualifications & Education:      
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6+ months of related experience or training
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to compute rate, ratio and percent
  • Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to work independently or in groups
Desired Previous Job Experience:
  • Experience in food manufacturing
