This is an investigator position with the Office of Inspector General. This position is a Select Exempt Service (SES), excluded, position with an anticipated salary of up to $43,000.00. 

The employee in this position completes complex, confidential, and independent investigations into allegations against the agency's employees for violations of statutes, administrative rules, or agency policy.

This position requires periodic overnight travel. 

The employee must be productive under tight timeframes, balance multiple, competing priorities, and maintain goal-directed behavior and performance, sometimes under stressful conditions.  Attendance is  an essential function of this position. 

The employees' performance and behavior must demonstrate consideration of the workload concerns of others and must not negatively affect productivity and morale of the unit.

This position conducts investigations into alleged fraud, waste, or abuse in agency programs, and employee misconduct.

Duties include coordination with external law enforcement and department entities to ensure that allegations are resolved. The employee drafts investigative findings for approval of the Director of Investigations and the Inspector General.

The employee administers Florida Whistle-Blowers Law in coordination with the Director of Investigations and Inspector General, including receipt and tracking of information, conducting investigations in accordance with applicable statutes, and preparing reports of investigations.

The employee conducts independent analyses and special projects to promote efficiency and effectiveness and deter fraud, waste, and abuse.

The employee completes other duties as assigned.

The Certified Inspector General Investigator certification is preferred and will be considered in the hiring of a candidate.
