The University of Cincinnati is currently accepting applications for a Multimedia Production Assistant. The individual is responsible for providing technical expertise in the application of multimedia to promote and support the mission of the College of Engineering & Applied Science.  The individual will work with multiple units and departments to provide video and multimedia support primarily in the creation of video used for instruction, marketing, and recruiting.

Characteristic Duties:

  • Support marketing department to conceptualize, record and produce high profile pieces of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and donors utilizing professional video equipment and editing software.
  • Provide instructional support utilizing a variety of media; may include integration of multimedia, audio, and video technologies into Internet courses and instructional presentations by using innovative audio/video streaming technologies
  • Manage digital recordings on servers and computer systems for ease of retrieval and appropriate playback for students. Create and maintain appropriate electronic filing systems and structures.
  • Work in collaboration with marketing department to produce a variety of video products for use in marketing, public relations and promotional materials using digital photography/video equipment.
  • Direct (or support) digital and video communication initiatives including studio production and field production projects.
  • Plans and performs video post-production tasks which includes reviewing  footage,  making  editorial  decisions,  video  transcoding, rough cuts, audio adjustment, color correction; utilizes computer graphics and special effects for video post-production in accordance with the overall production concepts.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need.  

 

Additional Information: This position may require flexible schedule and evening hours. Top candidates will have experience with instructional design and instructional technologies.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related degree; -OR- an Associate’s degree with two (2) years of experience; -OR- four(4) years’ experience. Experience and/or training include basic to intermediate level experience; experience may include related certifications. Possesses working knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures related to network hardware and software and contributes through support, using stablished processes, methods, and systems.
