Summary  

This position is responsible for the operation of equipment to enhance production.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-shift inspections on equipment
  • Perform maintenance on equipment, such as fueling, lubricating, cleaning, and reporting faulty equipment to Supervisor
  • Operate front-end loader, and other equipment as needed
  • Start engines, shift gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheels to operate loader
  • Moves levers to lower and tilt bucket and drives front-end loader forward to force bucket into bulk material
  • Assist with plant repairs & plant maintenance, such as cleaning up in and around the plant & quarry as directed
  • Help with stone, concrete, asphalt, and shingle plants as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Education and/or Experience

  • Operating equipment experience is a plus

  • Able to interpret written and oral instructions, and to read, analyze and interpret, operating & maintenance instructions or regulations

  • Able to stand, walk, use hands to finger handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk or hear
  • Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus
  • May require sitting for extended periods of time
  • Able to climb ladders and to work with exposure to heights
  • Able to work in all weather conditions
  • Able to move/carry objects up to 50 lbs

 

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock or burn
  • The noise level in some areas of the work environment may be loud, but is typically moderate
