THIS POSITION IS PENDING RECLASS FROM COMMUNITY ASSISTANT CONSULTANT I TO ACCOUNTANT III

 

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for managing and reconciling the federal letter of credit accounts related to the Public Assistance Grant Program and the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Federal Letter of Credit Management
    • Daily review and draw down of cash needs
    • Monthly reconciliation of letter of credit draws
    • Federal Cash Reporting

 

  • Emergency Activations
    • Compile and report daily state agency costs to Executive Office of the Governor

 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

One year or more of revenue management experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of State of Florida regulations, processing, and procedures as they relate to fiscal operations, fiscal analysis, or financial management.

Demonstrated knowledge/experience with FLAIR.

Demonstrated knowledge/experience in using Excel spreadsheets.

Knowledge of methods of data collection and analysis.

Knowledge standard accounting procedures and reconciliation processes.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze fiscal data.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Preference will be given to those applicants that have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, finance or business administration.

Candidates should be able to work independently and be able to multi-task.

 

SPECIAL NOTES:

In response to emergency events, Division of Emergency Management employees may be required to work irregular hours, to work more than 8 hours per day, to work extended periods (including weekends and holidays), to work at locations other than their official headquarters, and to perform duties in addition to those outlined in the employee’s position description.  Employees must be able to deploy to emergency sites with limited advance notice.
