Description of Position:


This is a professional management position in the Florida Department of Health, Bureau of Preparedness and Response working in the State ESF8 Planning and Operations Section. This position serves as the lead planner for biological response activities, specifically the acquisition and use of medical counter measures, mass prophylaxis /vaccination and implementation of non-pharmaceutical interventions. The incumbent is designated as the Strategic National Stockpile Coordinator for the State of Florida. 


Ensure federal program requirements for the Strategic National Stockpile Program are met on an annual basis through planning, training, exercising, evaluation and analysis. This includes coordination across program areas to ensure requirements are met.


Develop and maintain statewide emergency response plans, playbooks and procedures for biological response activities such as mass prophylaxis, medical counter measure delivery, isolation and quarantine, and non-pharmaceutical interventions. 


Coordinate with local, state, and federal partners, as well as private sector stakeholders to develop integrated biological response system plans.


Develop and maintain training curriculums, tools, resources, and exercises plans to test and operationalize biological response activities.


Prepare to and serve as a member of the Department’s Incident Management Team during public health and medical incidents, activations of the State Emergency Response Team and exercises. This includes training for assigned roles, developing professional preparedness kits, and participating in exercises and drills as appropriate.
