For the Voith Paper, Application Engineering department, we are looking for:

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

Knowledge:

  • Develop and maintain a general understanding of all Voith Fiber Systems products and process technology.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of the primary products.
  • Develop and maintain a clear understanding of Voith Application Engineering guidelines.
  • Obtain and maintain knowledge of competitors’ products and processes.

 

Quote Creation:

  • Determine customer needs, problems and requirements and find a solution (system or single machine) to fulfill/solve it.
  • Define and size the required machines and systems according to the Voith Engineering Directives.
  • Develop accurate, competitive and appropriate quotations in a timely manner and develop accurate and detailed cost estimates; i.e. CalcEx and Pricing Template.
  • Configure quotations in CAMOS based on Standard BlueLine products according to the Global Sourcing Rules as best fit for the customer.
  • Maintain a well-organized quotation file with accurate and current Sizing Sheets, Balances, Correspondences, Equipment Specifications, Estimates including a single version of CalcEx, etc. at the appropriate revision level.
  • Work with Product Management, Sales, Standardization, Process Technology, Engineering and other departments to assemble the quote, warranties, product sheets and other required information.
  • Assist Sales (inside and with mill visits) to help determine customer needs and promote Voith products and technology.

 

Additional Duties:

  • Work with Product Managers and Standardization to improve quote texts, cover letters, application criteria, drawings and brochures.
  • Support (participate) in the start-up and optimization of systems sold as required to maintain a thorough understanding of the process.
  • If required presentation for conferences, visitors, students or other companies.
  • Cooperation with colleagues of P&S, FRS, DS and other divisions.
  • Constantly improve processes and interfaces between the departments.
  • Work out customer specific solutions within the given frame parameters without technical risks.

 

LOCATION REQUIRED

  • Appleton WI area (preferred)
  • Up to 30% travel will be required mostly within the NAFTA region. Visit and follow up with customers with exposure to industrial environments. Occasional travel to Germany may also be required.

 

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • Candidate should have some knowledge of paper making equipment and a few years of experience within the paper industry.
  • Preferably a Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, Paper Science or similar degree is required.
