Position Description

Working closely with the Director, Customer Verticals and Content, the role will create and manage strategy for a one or more Customer Verticals in order to increase overall Zoro revenue with a strong focus on establishing a scalable program within the Manufacturing and Manufacturing Sub-Industry segments.





Primary Function

  • The Ecommerce Vertical Manager is responsible for developing and implementing growth and marketing strategies for new and existing Customers within the Manufacturing segment of our business.
  • Communicating Zoro’s priorities and goals for the vertical, internally and externally, and executing those goals successfully.
  • Work closely with Director, Customer Verticals and Continent in defining scalable approach around Customer Vertical and Reseller Segmentation.
  • The role reports directly to the Director, Customer Verticals and Content and will have no direct reports.


Principal Responsibilities

  • Creating, revising, improving, and effecting current and new workflows that comply with the vertical channel’s business process rules and streamline the transaction cycle without compromising the quality of customer experience.
  • Working directly with the vertical’s representatives and business units to expand Zoro’s share of wallet, repeat purchase rate and increase strategic opportunity.
  • Identify and report out on Key Performance Indicators.
  • Owning the customer experience for customers converting through the channel.
  • Produce reports and analyses on verticals, campaign performance on those channels, and impact of key initiatives.
  • Producing weekly and monthly reports on vertical revenue and other key performance indicators
  • Identifying key trends, issues and root causes by analyzing data, and making recommendations for next steps.
  • Preparing and delivering presentations and recommendations to different audiences, and performing ad-hoc analysis as needed.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to create and maintain positive customer experiences within Customer Vertical and Reseller channels.
  • Working directly with technology and engineering teams to implement new functionality or improve upon existing functionality between Customer and Zoro.


Drives Revenue:

  • Responsible for performance and growth of the Customer Vertical and acquisition channel, which represents high current and potential revenue opportunities for Zoro.
  • Drive Sales, conversion, and AOV by utilizing and recommending new tools, technologies or processes to improve visibility on the channel.



Position Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s Degree, business-related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of work experience in merchandising, marketing, or operations, related to Manufacturing and Manufacturing Sub-Industries, preferably in an e-Commerce environment.
  • Experience managing marketplaces, loyalty programs or ecommerce account management a plus.
  • 1-3 years of experience in managing customer/vendor relationships.
  • 1-3 years of experience in managing cross-functional projects.
  • 1-3 years of experience in managing business processes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint presentation creation skills.
  • Basic understanding of statistics and testing methods.
  • Knowledge of SQL preferred or using SPSS, Oracle, and other query tools on large databases.
  • Experience managing a large assortment of product.
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics, Site Catalyst or similar tools.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of management.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Experience buying and/or selling on various online channels for a company preferred.
  • This role requires an entrepreneurial individual with strong hand in Ecommerce expertise.
