Compensation: Base rate is $18/hour with 2nd shift premium of +$1.00/hour | 3rd shift premium of +$1.50/hour

About this Position: A Level 1 Supervisor is expected to learn all TQS Inspection Processes and Procedures to ensure the correct execution of inspection, containment, sorting, and reporting in the field to our customers. This position is a working supervisor meaning that in between supervisory duties to oversee your assigned team, then you are also expected to work alongside and perform physical work alongside your team. The majority of Team Quality's customers are automotive manufacturing facilities in the tri-state area and Fort Wayne, IN. This position is responsible for the direct coordination and supervision of an inspection project at different factory locations with the assistance and guidance of the Inspection Services department. The supervisor will be available and on-call always during their shift. Ideally, our team members are also proactively interested in working on-call as needed to backfill other supervisors and, at times, other shifts.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

· Primary duties include scheduling, manpower utilization, and training team members at assigned locations.

· Setup projects on location in QNET and establish the process flow of projects.

· Ensure successful execution of inspection projects at assigned locations.

· Audit and assess risks on new and ongoing projects.

· Support with onboarding new supervisors and assisting with on-the-job training.

· Coordinate with Manager for scheduling of inspection team members to ensure efficient manpower utilization.

· Regularly conducting daily on-site project audits and risk assessments during shift.

· Approves incoming material, in process material, and finished product by confirming specifications, performing testing to criteria, and conducting nonconforming control procedures.

· Investigate and resolve customer or service location concerns.

· Ensure the job locations are adhering to all company and department policies, processes, and procedures.

· Facilitate and participate in corrective actions with customer service team, as needed.

· Liaising with staff in other departments and with external contacts.

· Ability to drive on behalf of customers and TQS, as required.

· Able to efficiently utilize TQS inspection support software.

· Monitors and maintains any in-use measurement and calibration, as needed.

· Maintains safe, professional, and healthy work environment per TQS and site location regulatory requirements.

· Ensures all required tools and supplies are available and on site.

· Assist project crews on inspection procedures and projects as a working supervisor.

· Act as primary point of contact on job sites for customers and other personnel for project updates and status, any concerns or issues, and project executions.

· Coordinate customer needs, parts pickup, deliveries, and logistical needs that may arise with Manager.

· Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

· Other duties as assigned by the manager.


Valid Driver's license and reliable transportation is required.


Supervisory Duties:

· On time delivery of services for customer satisfaction.

· Accurate time and data entry for each team member, project, and shift including temporary labor.

· Manage and lead multiple inspection team members.

· Provide team member feedback and recommendations to manager.

Requirements:


Required Education and Experience:

  • High school degree or equivalent required
  • Preferred 1-3 years of previous supervisory experience or 2,000 hours on the job as Quality Inspector

Competencies:

· Able to demonstrate communication, leadership, and customer service skills and ability.

· Read, write, explain, and train written work instructions.

· Displays problem solving skills for root cause and corrective action.

· Understands and able to promote and maintain LMS training, EOS models, and QMS systems and certifications.

· Problem Solving Skills/Root Cause Analysis


Required Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:

  • Valid driver's license

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to sit for an extended period. Able to be mobile throughout Team Quality Services facilities and customer locations
  • Ability to work with and around others, up to 2/3 of the work period
  • Ability to lift or push a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a scanner, computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components and software
  • Bending, twisting, and squatting
  • Occasional participation in events outside of regular office hours may be necessary that may include attendance at community meetings and events
  • Travel to TQS customer or service locations may be required
  • Candidate must comply with all customer and service location requirements, including, but not limited to, vaccination status. Employment for this position is contingent on the candidate obtaining and maintaining all customer and service location requirements, which may be subject to change at any time.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Demonstrates the ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Demonstrates the ability to organize and sort paperwork, documents, and other computer-based information
  • Demonstrates the ability to photocopy and print various documents, sometimes on behalf of other colleagues
  • Demonstrates the ability to use written and verbal communication skills to deal effectively with diverse groups of people, including proficiency in using a telephone/cellphone
  • Demonstrates ability to Manipulate statistical data
  • Knowledge of PC software applications including Word, Excel, QuickBooks, and seeks knowledge of Company Software i.e., Qnet
  • Demonstrates mechanical aptitude and able to use and verify calibration of inspection tools
  • Requires minimal level of supervision
