The UHS Corporate Business Office is seeking a dynamic and talented Manager - Revenue Cycle (Patient Access).

The Manager - Revenue Cycle (Patient Access) supports the UHS Acute Care front-end revenue cycle processes which encompass: Scheduling, Registration, Admission functions, Insurance Verification/Authorization, Financial Counseling and Point of Service Collections.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Monitors facility compliance with current standards, policies and procedures.
  • Provides leadership and direction for high level projects and technology decisions. Bridges the gap between operation and technical processes that result in better workflows/outcomes.
  • Oversees and maintains relationships with revenue cycle vendors to assure the success and improvement of patient access revenue cycle tools.
  • Develops technical roadmaps and operational guidance for the use of patient access applications with emphasis on appropriate structure and communication between these applications.
  • Collaborates with IT and other teams in the design, adoption, and optimization of patient access-related tools and technologies, such as Cerner optimization, insurance verification tools, and online registration systems.
  • Leads teams in meeting high quality performance standards and in achieving KPIs in all areas of responsibility by creating an environment of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Ensures satisfactory and timely resolution of service and maintenance IT tickets for Patient Access Service Applications.
  • Assists with implementation of new products and services, enhancements to systems and operational changes in workflow. Completes testing as needed in this area.
  • Supports the continuous assessment of the patient access functions. Works with internal and external resources and supports the ongoing enhancement initiatives of internal and vendor applications and tools.
  • Serves as a liaison to enable process improvement activities and communications between the hospital, CBO, and corporate teams.
  • Discovers and implements opportunities for process improvement through reviewing performance metric reports and collaborating with other departmental leaders; articulates the business case for such changes.
  • Supports the annual planning process to establish objectives and performance measures that gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of organizational strategies.
  • Develops and delivers education sessions materials on standardized workflow processes and procedures.
  • Manages a team of analysts, monitors team results, addresses teammate relation issues and escalates to Director as necessary. Provides direction and oversight to less experienced team members.


Qualifications

Experience & Knowledge:

Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred. 5-8 years of related experience required.

This position must possess extensive knowledge of revenue cycle systems, functions, policies and procedures, including experience with front end revenue cycle operations, from scheduling, pre-registration, Admitting functions, insurance verification/authorization, financial counseling and point of service collections. Must be very knowledgeable about various healthcare industry trends and regulations. Must have a proven record of identifying process improvement opportunities and working effectively with Patient Access tools, vendor management and staff at all levels of the organization. Previous experience working with Experian eligibility tools and Cerner Patient Management preferred. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills are required. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft word, excel spreadsheets, databases, email, and ability to manage large scale projects is required. Must be organized and detail oriented.

Travel Requirement is approximately 25%.
