Job Description:

Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the candidate will serve as the Research Fellow/Project Coordinator for externally funded research studies. The Project Coordinator/ Research Fellow works closely with the PI and Project Director and other research staff to support the research projects that they are working on across all phases, including science-related portions of project proposal development, startup, implementation, monitoring and reporting, and closeout. This includes providing support on research proposal development, research protocols, regulatory materials (including IRB), standard operating procedures; the tracking of deliverables, milestones, and timelines; scientific data management; and the planning and reporting of analyses and progress reports. Additional responsibilities include scheduling and coordinating meetings, conducting interviews with research participants, facilitating focus groups for research purposes, analyzing qualitative data, administering research surveys, submitting manuscripts, assisting student research assistants in completing their responsibilities on the studies they are working on and other research-related tasks. The candidate will be expected to work with a high level of independence, prioritize all aspects of research activities with supervision, and self-initiate suggestions and approaches to optimize the team's research efforts.

Requirements:

  1. At least two year's experience with research project coordination or management or similar role (preferred).
  2. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively - verbally and in writing - with participants, staff, and supervisors.
  3. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with team members and contacts who are internal and external to the university.
  4. Organizational skills to maintain records and coordinate other tasks as required.
  5. Skill in speaking and writing to persons of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
  6. High level of independence and reliability.
  7. At least 1-year of experience in data collection, including expertise in re-contact methods and conducting qualitative interviews (preferred).
  8. Experience with data collection for focus groups, 1:1 interviews, and/or participant observation.
  9. Demonstrated knowledge of personal computers and relevant software programs (e.g., data entry, word processing, spreadsheets, qualitative data analysis software) such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint/Google Slides, Outlook, Dedoose, RedCap.
  10. Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Sciences degree required. Masters degree preferred.
  11. Organizational skills to plan and schedule meetings and presentations.

Hybrid in-person and remote possible after first 90 days. Sooner considered.
