Department Overview

Customer and Enterprise Solutions (C&ES) is devoted to serving PG&E's mission of delivering safe, reliable, and affordable customer-focused electric and gas service to all customers across our unique service area. As PG&E's customer-facing organization, we support Electric Operations, Gas Operations, and Energy Supply. We aim to define and drive the enterprise-wide customer strategy while encouraging a culture of safety, affordability, and employee engagement. LCE is accountable for delivering high-quality performance to PG&E's customers and ensuring the safety, availability, and reliability of regional operations for our hometowns.

To meet and exceed our customers' diverse needs and preferences, PG&E implemented a Regional Service Model in 2021, rolling out five unique regions supported by local-level leadership. The Regional Service Model (RSM) Program Management Office (PMO) is responsible for harnessing the power of a large utility and curating it to the needs of our diverse customers by supporting our five regions and each of their leaders to quickly resolve issues at the regional level and rebuild trust with our PMO implements and integrates continuous improvement, full lifecycle project management governance, and end-to-end process management across the Company. The PMO supports the ongoing operations of a 300-coworker department, and the chosen candidate will be expected to work seamlessly among the matrixed teams and functions.

Position Summary

The Product Owner provides a clear vision of the product that will be built. From the vision the Product Owner forms well defined user stories, prioritizes user stories and backlog and provides a clear-time line of the product. Maintains the technical integrity and quality of the features/components the team is responsible for. The Product Owner focuses on the end-user experience, needs and features that drive a roadmap to deliver their vision. Builds and maintains relationships that allow the Product Owner to act as the customer proxy. Uses influence to overcome hierarchal challenges.

The product owner output will support cross-functional initiatives and change management across multiple teams and organizations. The product owner will provide daily, weekly, and monthly report-outs to varying levels of leadership and be expected to drive their work independently, professionally, and confidently.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory, and the chosen candidate will have to travel 1-2 times per month throughout the service territory to support our regional teams and report weekly to our headquarters in Oakland.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $128,000.00
Bay Area Maximum: $218,000.00

Job Responsibilities

  • Identifies the appropriate customer audience, their preferred communication channels, and potential customer response benchmarks.
  • Leads moderate to complex projects with a medium to high corporate or functional priority.
  • Acts as primary liaison between various departments, Stakeholders, business community, and lines of businesses.
  • Develops implementation plans and establish teams to introduce new technology
  • Develops new tools, resources, communications or to improve processes.
  • Evaluates new products and equipment and keeps abreast of new products and/or equipment available in the market.
  • Provides product feedback and customer insight to support product development.
  • Partners with products organization to deliver feedback on existing products and introduce potential products for future programs.
  • Analyzes work plan and schedules to reallocate resources or reprioritize program work.
  • Develops new complex products.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
  • Job-related experience, 5 years

Desired:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience as Product Owner, Agile environment, 5 years
  • Agile Certification
