Job Description

Apex Clean Energy is seeking an experienced a temporary Talent Acquisition Recruiter to join our team to focus on the growth of our organization. The concentrated focus for this role will be talent acquisition. You will be responsible for the full-life cycle recruitment process, including working closely with hiring managers, determining job requirements, sourcing top-notch candidates, screening candidates, managing candidate communications, and forecasting hiring needs. You will also be focused on executing on diversity measures and promoting our employee value proposition externally via recruitment partnerships and events, social media, and other recruitment initiatives.

To ensure success, you should possess extensive experience in talent acquisition, comfort with managing at least 7 open requisitions, and have extensive experience attracting the right candidate for each role. Our ideal candidate will have talent acquisition experience in the renewable energy or related industry.

This is a full-time contracted position with long-term potential opportunities.

  • Office Location: Charlottesville, VA. A remote option would be considered for an ideal candidate.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Performing full life-cycle recruitment efforts, managing every step of the process including candidate experience and partnering with hiring teams
  • Determining selection criteria, hiring profiles, and job requirements for vacant positions
  • Sourcing potential candidates through online company career portals, recruitment sites, job boards, social platforms, events, and partnerships
  • Managing hiring processes via Applicant Tracking System
  • Build best in class processes and programs to support the diversity strategy and help us to deliver on our DEI goals
  • Assist with developing and/or maintaining important strategic university and community partnerships
  • Evaluating applications and screening candidates, as well as facilitating pre-interview assessments when needed
  • Compiling interview questions and conducting in-person or video call interviews with candidates
  • Preparing hiring forecasts as part of the company's strategic planning
  • Documenting processes and fostering good relationships with potential candidates and past applicants
  • Developing hiring strategies and procedures in line with industry trends, as well as keeping informed of advancements in the field
  • Conduct employee onboarding
  • Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
  • Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies
  • Undertake tasks around performance management
  • Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics
  • Help maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form, as needed
  • Ensure compliance with labor regulations
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Human Resources Management, Psychology, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience and proven success in talent acquisition in a high-volume environment; experience in the renewable energy industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a requisition volume of 7+ requisitions simultaneously across several departments.
  • Has a customer-service mindset with a focus on providing a positive candidate experience
  • Proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Ability to liaise with internal departments and develop hiring strategies, while providing excellent customer service.
  • Advanced knowledge of effective hiring platforms to source and attract suitable applicants (i.e., LinkedIn Recruiter).
  • Exceptional ability to screen candidates, compile shortlists, and interview candidates with best practices.
  • Proficiency in documenting processes and keeping up with industry trends.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Collaboration skills including the ability to integrate and act upon diverse perspectives.
  • Ensure compliance to corporate policies and standards.
  • Demonstrable experience using HR data to draw meaningful insights and recommendations.
  • Proficiency in core HR disciplines such as employee relations, talent management, compensation and benefits administration, and learning and development.
  • Meticulous organizational skills and attention to detail, with experience executing complex and long-term projects involving cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Polished communicator with the ability to advise business leaders, facilitate small and large group sessions, and navigate sensitive situations with tact.
  • Comfortable working with distributed teams in a flexible, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Additional Information

This position is temporary in nature and can fluctuate as determined by the Apex business needs outlined in the job description, and may be subject to separation based on completion or de-prioritization of the assigned project.This is an initial 6-month assignment with a possibility to extend longer or become permanent.
