About the Administrative Services Center

The Administrative Services Center (ASC) is a deliverable of the AdminX initiative. The ASC partners with local and central units to provide efficient and consistent support for administrative operations across the Institute.
The ASC will serve as the front door for all HR inquiries and transaction initiation.

The ASC delivers the following HR services across the Institute:
Hiring (all employee types)
Foreign National Processing & International Assignments
Employee data management (workforce administration)


Job Summary


The role of the Audio/Visual Information Technology Support Professional I is to provide direct assistance to staff and faculty in the classroom and/or meeting rooms, set up/maintain educational technology infrastructure, support technology projects and make sure the classroom or meeting room technology is functional for large venue events. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: unit AV equipment users, unit technical staff, contractors and vendors. This position typically will advise and counsel: unit AV equipment users. This position will supervise: NA


Responsibilities


Job Duty 1 -
Investigate and resolve entry level audio-visual problems in classrooms or conference rooms, to include wiring and signal distribution problems dealing with switching and/or routing and video resolution and/or scaling

Job Duty 2 -
Identify individual component failures and replace computer, audio, video or control system components

Job Duty 3 -
Install and maintain projectors, wiring, signal distribution amplifiers and audio or video switchers

Job Duty 4 -
Monitor customer requests, analyze, repair and document resolution details or escalate problems to the next level

Job Duty 5 -
Provide technical and training support to users

Job Duty 6 -
Provide basic computer and/or Mac support to users of classroom technology

Job Duty 7 -
Understand cable standards (e.g. EIA/TIA standard) and interpret cabling topologies

Job Duty 8 -
Monitor equipment-related activity and movement to support successful periodic inventory cycles

Job Duty 9 -
Coordinate installation of equipment for new or renovated classrooms or conference rooms

Job Duty 10 -
Perform other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications


Educational Requirements
Associate's Degree, Technical Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Required Qualifications
Overnight travel requrofed for project delivery; flexibility in on-site daily service delivery hours (due to client shift schedules, project requrofements).

Required Experience
Two to three years of job related experience


Preferred Qualifications


Additional Preferred Qualifications
Certified Technology Specialist (CTS), Extron Audio Visual Associate (EAVA), or Crestron Certification

Bachelor's Degree

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities


SKILLS
This job requires basic to intermediate knowledge in electronics and engineering support as related to audio/visual equipment and components; basic to intermediate skills in the installation of electronic equipment; preparing and reading printouts, drawings, and soldering techniques are required Effective Communication skills (verbal and written) are also required.
