Job DescriptionGeneral Purpose of Job:
Emergency Management Specialist is responsible for ensuring Sparrow Facilities are compliant with CMS and Joint Commission requirements in four major categories: Emergency Operations Plan, Communication Plan, Policies and Procedures, and Training and Testing. This individual will coordinate multiple efforts amongst various leaders and caregivers in Sparrow Facilities and the Community At Large to ensure Sparrow is ever ready for any emergency or disaster through methods of mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery.
Essential Duties:
This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
- Prepare the Emergency Operations Plan for annual review and approval
- Prepare the Emergency policies for annual review and approval
- Prepare the 96 Hour Supply List for annual review and approval
- Prepare the Communication Plan for annual review and approval
- Prepare the Continuity of Operations Plan for annual review and approval
- Prepare the Hazard Vulnerability Assessment for annual review and approval
- Take lead role in Everbridge mass notification entry, process, and policy
- Maintain documentation for initial and annual training for caregivers, volunteers, and contractors
- Prepare internal and external tabletop and drills for hospital and community at large
- Prepare the After Action Report for all drills conducted for hopsital
- Ensure compliance to Joint Commission standards and elements of performance by maintaining necessary documentation and data to show compliance
- Attend necessary webinars and coliations related to emergency management
Position will be a regional area position have multiple sites of care, traveling from Grand Rapids, Ionia, and Charlotte.
