About the Position


The Physician Support Specialist (DSBU) is responsible for initial and on-going communication with doctors and providers to pursue valid prescription orders and/or medical records for patient being serviced with our Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) and Pump Supplies in accordance with DMEPOS guidelines. The Physician Support Specialist will work within the scope of responsibilities as dictated below with guidance and support from our Physician Support/Processing leadership team.


Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM PST, Monday to Friday

Location: Hybrid in Carlsbad, CA, with 1st 90 days Fully Onsite


Essential Functions

  • Communicates with doctor's offices by phone, fax, email and/or mail correspondences to pursue prescription orders and/or required medical records to ship a patient's order.
  • Provides excellent customer service while communicating with provider offices and teammates.
  • Manages a High Call Volume per day (approximately 65-100 inbound and outbound calls combined per day).
  • Consistently obtains a high percentage of valid prescription orders based on the number of quality outbound calls attempted.
  • Consistently manages a high percentage of valid prescription orders based on the quantity of quality outbound calls attempted.
  • Promptly responds to provider inquiries and performs follow up calls with high level of urgency.
  • Maintains accurate and detailed records in company database.
  • Reviews documents retrieved from inbound faxes to determine validity; scans documents efficiently and accurately (estimated 100 documents per day).
  • Adapts quickly to frequent process changes and improvements.
  • Is reliable, engaged, and provides feedback to improve processes and policies.
  • Attends all department, team, and company meetings as required.

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Pharmacy Technician License desirable
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a customer service call center environment
  • Experience with medical insurance and/or DME desirable
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology; knowledge of orthotics and diabetes desirable
  • Demonstrated success in meeting goals and objectives
  • Proficiency in basic math and business calculations
  • Working knowledge of computer/data entry with the ability to learn new systems
  • Basic level of MS Office proficiency

Compensation Package


Pay ranges may vary depending on location. The general pay range for this position is $16 - $17 per hour. Actual compensation depends on education, experience, and relevant skills.
