Job Summary/Basic Function
The purpose of the Federal Work-Study Program is to give a student an opportunity to develop skills, gain on-the-job experience for future employment, and give the student flexibility to work around class schedules.




Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a Bay College student in the work study program to be considered for this position. Eligibility for work-study is determined after you file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

  • Work-study requires that you are enrolled for a minimum of six credits that applies towards semester you are employed.

  • You must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.

Job Duties





Job Duty

  • Greeting and directing the public and students to specific rooms, offices, etc.

  • Operating Switchboard

  • Receptionist Duties

  • Receiving and distributing documents for various departments in Student Services

  • Scheduling Compass Tests

  • Word processing

  • Opening and distributing mail for various offices

  • Copy machine (removing jams, replacing toner, assisting employees, refill paper)

  • Assist with mailings for various offices in Student Services

  • Scan documents

  • Record and distribute voice messages and/or email

  • Photocopying and stocking forms, brochures, etc.

  • Update/Refresh Bulletin Boards

  • Photocopying and assembly packets for various offices in Student Services

  • Maintain Jobline/Jobline procedures

  • Newspaper review for obits and log

  • Entering tracking data into the system

  • Assist with Processing transcript requests

  • Assist with registration and file registration forms

  • Assist with athletics: home games taking tickets, concession, assembly packets, etc.

  • Electronic monitoring and updating of obituary's in the system

  • Assist with processing final class list/course change forms

  • Assist with collection and data entry of cash/credit cards for all money owed to the college

  • Assist with deposit preparation, balancing money against receipts entered

  • Assist with statement preparation

  • Assist with providing polite and accurate responses to any inquiries otherwise directing inquiries to the appropriate area

  • Assist with payment plan procedures

  • Assist with third party billing

  • Assist with monitoring accounts for timely payments

  • Assist with the collection of aging receivables

  • Sell tickets for events held in the Besse Center Theatre

  • Making phone calls

  • Other duties
