Job Summary
The Assistant Coach, Women's Volleyball is responsible for assisting with the planning, developing and managing the operations of a Division I volleyball program within Chicago State University's Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.




Job Description
Under the direction of the Head Volleyball Coach, the Assistant Coach, Women's Volleyball is responsible for assisting with the planning, developing and managing the operations of a Division I volleyball program within Chicago State University's Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Assists in identifying and recruiting academically and athletically talented student-athletes for the women's volleyball program.
* Assists in team coaching and individual player development.
* Assists in the coordination of team and individual travel for the purpose of team competition and player recruitment.
* Assists in preparation and implementation of both camps and clinics.
* Assists in scouting and video preparation to prepare team for competition.
* Assists in monitoring academic, social, and personal development of women's volleyball student-athletes.
* Assists in the establishment of communication and enforcement of rules and regulations regarding student-athlete conduct, appearance, and behavior.
* Maintains knowledge and remains current regarding all appropriate NCAA, WAC, CSU Department of Athletics, and University compliance issues, policies, and procedures.
* Develops and maintains effective relationships and communications with students, colleagues, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and general public.
* Other duties as assigned by the women's volleyball head coach and the Director of Athletics




Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree
* Previous coaching experience at the Division I level
* Thorough knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and regulations
* Knowledge and/or experience of the recruitment process
* Displayed success in the recruitment of student-athletes
* Ability to work with and communicate effectively with all team members and support staff
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent computer and technical skills
* Ability to train and motivate student-athletes
* Working knowledge of Data Volley/Data Project/Volley metrics
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the sport of volleyball




Preferred Qualifications
* Collegiate and/or professional playing experience
* Master's degree
* Experience establishing camps/clinics
* Three or more years of demonstrated success as an assistant coach at the NCAA Division I level.

Knowledge of and compliance with NCAA rules is a condition of employment in this position.

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
