Cyclonaire is currently looking for a Purchasing Agent to join our team.

The Purchasing Agent will purchase products, services, and raw materials for the company according to departmental and organizational policies and procedures. This role will be able to carry out its functions in accordance with Cyclonaire’s Core Values.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate with managers to maintain inventory levels
  • Maintain relationships with wholesalers and suppliers (vendors)
  • Interact with suppliers to schedule delivery times and resolve shipping errors
  • Enter and follow up on open purchase orders
  • Part number entry and maintenance
  • Recognize, research, and obtain approval for substitute items
  • Purchase order reporting
  • Work with other departments to ensure that all orders and deliveries satisfy the production schedule
  • Other duties as assigned

Competencies: Must have the ability to prioritize and manage workload while meeting critical timelines with high expectations from internal and external customers. Problem-solving and critical thinking skills are required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required to communicate effectively on a professional level, exercising tact and discretion. Organizational skills and attention to detail are required. Must be able to work in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and Microsoft Teams. Experience working in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)/Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) system is required.

Education / Experience: Associate Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or equivalent education and 2-3 years’ experience is required. Familiarity with industrial equipment, manufacturing processes, metal fabrication, and custom design principles desired.

Physical Demands: Sedentary position requiring extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Talking, hearing, and repetitive motions are required. Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting. Work requires constant visual ability. Must be able to lift 40 pounds independently.

Work Environment: Clean and climate-controlled office environment in a manufacturing facility.

Travel Requirements: Travel may be required 5-10% of the time. Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that permits the use of company automobiles.

Safety: Safety shoes (steel or composite toe), safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and other forms of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required in designated areas.

Other Duties: Safe work performance is always required from each employee. Perform all duties and responsibilities in a safe manner in accordance with applicable Health and Safety Manuals. Required to wear or use PPE as applicable and to immediately report unsafe working conditions. Understanding and adhering to Cyclonaire Core Values is required.
