Job Summary and Qualifications

We are currently seeking a Utilization Review RN to join our team. As our Utilization Review RN you will provide ongoing support and expertise through comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and overall evaluation of individual patient needs. In addition, while enhancing the quality of patient management and satisfaction, you will promote continuity of care and cost effectiveness through the integration of case management and utilization review management. What you will do in this role:

· You will ensure all admissions and continued stays meet clinical criteria for appropriateness and medical necessity.

· You will work with the Discharge Planner to ensure the discharge planning process is active and meets the needs of the patient through the continuum of care.

· You will participate in Treatment Planning to ensure plans meet patient's clinical, psychological and discharge needs in collaboration with the attending physician and interdisciplinary team.

· You will assess the mental & health status of assigned patients by collecting and analyzing patient and family data, and expedites and coordinates the delivery of services to facilitate patient’s progression through the healthcare system.

· You will perform admission certification screening for patients in accordance with Utilization Plan using ISD criteria, and performs concurrent stay reviews at least every 48 hours for severity of illness using ISD criteria.

· You will track and trend barriers to care; make recommendations and develop action plans to improve processes and systems.

What qualifications you will need:

· Completion of RN Diploma program or related health care program

· Minimum of three years recent behavioral health inpatient or related health care experience

· Licensure as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire.

· Level II Fingerprinting required.

· Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training required.

· Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills, demonstrates analytical and critical thinking abilities with pro-active decision-making and negotiation skills, strong knowledge of governmental and private organization and community resources.

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and/or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
