Job Summary :

Serves out-patient's needs by assisting Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapists through prompt and effective assistance and maintains/cleans equipment and treatment areas. Assures that the departments' customer needs are met through his/her promptness of phone skills, organization and working with insurance companies in obtaining authorizations to treat. Provides office services by supporting front office and other clinics to complete daily tasks.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Obtaining authorizations from insurance for patient treatment.
2. Maintaining a clean and safe gym area.
3. Responsible for aide tasks:
a. Monitoring of Workques and initiating proper paperwork
b. Completing daily aide task list
c. Maintaining inventory by ordering and stocking department supplies
d. Patient scheduling
e. Entering of patient referrals
f. Scanning, copying, faxing of documents
g. Completion and appropriate follow-up on paperwork associated with ordering patient equipment or forwarding of information per therapist requests
h. Miscellaneous office tasks
4. Displays excellent guest relations with all patients and customer correspondence and displays excellent telephone etiquette. Greets visitors, patients, and other personnel in a positive and prompt manner, ascertains their nature of business and refers to the appropriate person or department in a timely manner.
5. Efficiently and defectively keeps neat, clean, and organized the treatment areas, equipment, and supplies, and follows the routine cleaning and maintenance schedules. Responsible for monitoring and stocking inventory of medical supplies and lines.
6. Observes patients during treatment and notifies therapist of any distress or that the completion of treatment. Notifies therapist of any malfunctioning of equipment.

Education/Experience:

1. High School diploma or the equivalent required.

2. Minimum of one year of full-time work experience as a Level I aide at Hendricks Regional Health or graduate from an accredited associate, bachelor or graduate program in a health related field to rehabilitation preferred.

3. Computer experience knowledge preferred, especially specific to Microsoft Word, Windows, Microsoft Excel or data entry.

Mandatory Licensure/Certifications:

BLS certification preferred. If associate does not have upon employment, it will be the associate's responsibility to obtain or provide proof of certification within six months of start date.
