Summary of Position
The University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law (UNH Franklin Pierce), a national leader in legal education with a commitment to inclusion, diversity, and quality engagement for all, is pleased to announce that it is currently seeking applicants for a faculty position to teach in the JD Legal Writing Program to begin in August 2024. The candidate will be a full-time faculty member involved in teaching and faculty governance. The position affords an opportunity to teach and develop upper-level writing classes, including Writing for Practice. Faculty in this position would also teach 1L law students in a two-term Legal Analysis, Writing, and Research class which focuses on foundational lawyering skills, including how to read and analyze cases. Faculty in this position are expected to embrace teaching both online and in-person and be familiar with both modalities.

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school.

  • The interest in and ability to teach in an innovative environment, both in-person and online.

  • Attending to individual needs of students, and a dedication to mentoring students both on campus and remotely.

  • Collaborating with writing colleagues to work towards the overall improvement of the writing program.

  • Depending on institutional needs, teaching other courses within the candidate's expertise and interest.

  • Participating in faculty governance, such as serving on law school committees.

  • A commitment to promoting inclusive excellence and diversity.

  • Ability to effectively work with our rapidly expanding and diverse student population.

  • Excelling as a team player and possessing a collegial and flexible nature and a commitment to excellence in performing institutional service and governance responsibilities.

  • Ability to use CANVAS, D2L, Brightspace, or other technology for delivery of online education.

  • Admission to a bar and legal practice experience.
