This position is for an entry level Network Equipment Engineer role in the Verizon Global Network & Technology organization. In this role you will be part of a team that is responsible for engineering and material procurement of cell site projects.

As a Network Equipment Engineer you will:

• Managing the budget as it relates to equipment purchasing. This includes processing orders and invoices in a timely manner.

• Managing vendors and consultants. Work with vendors to obtain quotes and ensure their products and services meet Verizon Wireless' requirements.

• Managing outside vendors and contractors to effectively meet shipping and installation commitments.

• Requesting authorization for funds, write purchase orders, and manage procurement activities using SAP Purchasing system. Ensure departmental compliance with company procurement and equipment installation policies

• Creating pick list/ship requests and ensure equipment arrives accurately in the field to meet project requirements.

• Reviewing Designs to determine feasibility and scope of work for installers.

• Determine DC power plant and battery backup upgrades.

• Reviewing/designing power and fiber connections up the cell tower.

You must be currently enrolled in a degree program and be in good academic standing to be considered.

In this hybrid full time position, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager. This hybrid role will be based out of Rolling Meadows, IL.

You'll need to have:

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree majoring in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science or related majors with a completion date of June 2024.

• Coursework or experience in Network Performance and optimization.

• Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.

• Willingness to travel and work in Rolling Meadows, IL.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Demonstrated strong written and communication skills.

• Experience working with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite

• Experience with Excel for tracking purposes..

• Network Certifications (CCNA, CCNP, or similar).
