Summary
University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy (UHSP) is seeking a transfer admissions representative who will be responsible for foundational admissions and enrollment management related activities for new transfer students at the Undergraduate level, as well as assisting with the Professional Pharmacy Program. Reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions, this position will represent and market all academic colleges to prospective students at recruitment events, both on- and off-campus and cultivate relationships with students, parents, and college guidance counselors to promote the university. Review and evaluate students' admission applications. Advise students, parents, and college guidance counselors on application process, curriculum, academic requirements, financial aid options, housing, and other student services. The transfer representative will play a pivotal role in the recruitment process and leading students to commit to the University.

You will get to:
  • Cultivate relationships with all the area 2- and 4-year universities in the surrounding area to grow transfer student enrollment.
  • Cultivate relationships with college counselors and professors, pre-pharmacy advisors and career counselors at area 2- and 4-year colleges, and other appropriate influencers of prospective students to grow professional school enrollment.
  • Manage all transfer students by recruiting and counseling students through activities including, but not limited to, responding to phone, email and web inquiries, engaging in recruitment travel within the assigned territory, and assisting with outreach and recruitment programs by representing UHSP at college fairs, 2- and 4-year college graduate and career fairs.
  • Manage and conduct presentations to pre-pharmacy clubs and other student organizations within certain universities, colleges, junior and community colleges.
  • Work closely with the pharmacy admission representative to marketing professional school to 2- and 4-year colleges. Fill in at health profession fairs as needed.
  • Through personal outreach and follow-up, increase the yield of admitted students.
  • Represent the University as an active participant in appropriate professional networks.
  • Collaborate with other admissions representatives for major events and programs.
  • Serves as liaison between Enrollment Management and other college departments issues specifically related to all prospective transfer students.
  • Evaluate all recruitment activity and territory for effectiveness and make recommendations to improve recruitment efficiency, conversion, and yield rates.
  • Effectively use institutional student information system/CRM or other designated system(s) which allows for management of territory, case notes, and progress tracking.
  • Must exercise independent judgment to create personal strategies and communication management flows to prioritize effective initiative-taking communication outreach on phone, email, text, etc. with applicants, hosting campus visits, facilitating faculty member engagement, and other presentations, etc.


Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited institution of higher education
  • At least four years of experience in admissions, student services or college counseling
  • Experience giving presentations to groups of various sizes.
  • Financial aid or scholarship selection experience
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a remote setting
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a recruitment territory
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills and be able to explain abstract concepts effectively
  • Evidence of the ability to work successfully with college and university administrators and high school personnel
  • Ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds
  • Sensitivity to issues related to recruitment and retention of a diverse student body
  • Ability to travel (40-50%), work nights/weekends, ability to lift and move boxes and materials up to 30 pounds, and have a valid driver's license
