Transportation Civil Drafting Internships Available

The Civil Drafting Intern is an entry level drafting assistant role to support engineering staff with varying duties on a variety of projects. The position requires an individual who has a strong desire to pursue a career in civil drafting and should be enrolled in certification level or associates degree drafting program. Our intern opportunities include hands-on, real client experience which prepares you for full-time employment, and completing an internship with J-U-B gives you a leg up for our full-time positions post-graduation!

While applying CAD knowledge and skills, this drafting position will:

• Learn beginning aspects of civil design through immersive drafting
• Develop and hone drafting skills on Civil design transportation (roadway) plans
• Prepare civil design calculations
• Perform construction observation
• Perform quantity takeoffs
• Perform reviews on in-house designs
• Perform special projects as needed
• Other duties assigned by the Project Manager or Project Engineer

Qualifications:

• Pursuing an associate degree in drafting or enrolled in Autodesk certification courses
• AutoCAD or MicroStation drafting experience
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to analyze information, make decisions, and meet deadlines
• Documentation, planning, and organizational skills
• Capable of working in a construction environment under adverse working conditions, as required by managers and projects
