The Medical Records Analyst (internal title: Data Entry Technician) is an administrative position that will enter data into proprietary databases, Excel and custom programs. They will also prepare reports of varying complexity as well as extract and analyze data.

Data comes from multiple sources and entry includes demographic information, medical test results (vision, laboratory, PFT, audiogram, DOT), compliance details (last/next exam dates for multiple medical surveillance programs) and work restrictions. Format/applications vary per client and require the ability to work with large sets of data, follow detailed instructions and meet deadlines.

Candidates must have hands-on experience entering and analyzing medical records data as well as intermediate level Excel skills.

Candidates local to Rockville, MD can work from CHR's corporate headquarters.


Responsibilities

  • Data entry into various applications including custom software.
  • Data entry into Excel spreadsheets of various types and complexity.
  • Extracting data from multiple applications including Excel and custom software.
  • Running reports from multiple applications.
  • Keeping track of SOP's related to data entry.
  • Communicating with clients on due lists, demographic updates, and reports.
  • Following-up on communications and tasks.
  • Helping with other tasks such as auditing records, creating cases in our scheduling system and anything else that may be needed.
  • Perform additional duties and assume additional responsibilities as identified by manager for the efficient operation of CHR and WorkCare.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
    • Minimum of 3 years' medical records experience.
    • Must have intermediate level knowledge and experience in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Computer Skills
    • Must be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and learn other software as needed.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel must be at an intermediate level or higher.
  • Physical Demands
    • Requires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk.
    • Some bending and stretching could be required.
    • Working under stress and use of computer/phone required.
    • Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard and mouse.
    • Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch.
    • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
  • Work Environment
    • Mainly indoor, office environment conditions.
    • The noise level is usually moderate.
    • Air quality is good and temperature is controlled.
    • Work Environment must be free from background noise and distraction, noise level is acceptable, temperature is controlled. At home set up must meet all Company IT, privacy and safety requirements.

Additional Job Information

Must reside in and be authorized to work lawfully in the United States for any employer.

The work schedule is Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00m EST. Candidates can be located in any time zone as long as they can work the required hours of the position.

The salary for this position is $20.00 per hour.
